Who is Stacey Alleaume?
I am a principal soprano at Opera Australia. I am an energetic, fun-loving person who enjoys walking and kite flying. I have a chocolate addiction and love flowers and nature.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
I love my job! I could not imagine being anything else but an opera singer – my passion for music and performing is too strong. But for life in general, would be to learn how to not stress about the small things and stop over-thinking!
Who inspires you and why?
My parents are a great inspiration to me as they helped me become the person I am today and gave me the opportunity to follow my dream. They taught me success only comes with hard work, perseverance and determination.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would really like to grow my hair long enough to donate to a foundation that makes wigs for children with Alopecia. It might seem like a small gesture but I know it would make the world of a difference to someone else.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Mauritius! Beautiful beaches and long stretches of silky-white sand to sink your feet into. It is also sentimental to me because it is where my parents were born and it brings back memories of exploring the island with them and hearing stories of their childhood.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
If they were staying in the city I would take them to Melbourne’s iconic laneway Degraves Street or have some cake at Brunetti’s on Lygon Street. If they have more time to spare, I would take them on a road trip to Wilsons Promontory National Park or the Great Ocean Road and show them the beautiful coastline.
What are you currently reading?
Les Rêves d’un Jour which is a collection of poems written by my great-grandfather, the earliest dating back to 1877. He certainly was quite the romantic!
What are you currently listening to?
I recently jumped on the Spotify bandwagon. I love being able to just pick a playlist and hear an array of different music on my walks.
Happiness is?
Arriving home after a long period of travelling and opening the front door to be welcomed by my over-excited, adorable little doggie; and spending quality time at home with my husband and family.
What does the future hold for you?
A holiday to Fiji! My dad calls me an energizer bunny as I am constantly on the go or working. I am looking forward to some beachside bliss and time to relax and recharge.
