Who is Alex King?
I wish chatGPT could answer this question. I would love to know. I am an Actor. I am on a journey to befriend anxiety. I am learning how to live in the present moment. I want and hope to lead with bravery and kindness. I also think I am funny. I hope to convince others of this one day.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
I would definitely be a stuntman. Or a Fight/Movement Director for Theatre. I would also love to be an intimacy coordinator. This is something I am wanting to start soon.
Who inspires you and why?
I am deeply inspired by humanity’s ability to come together during times of crisis. Witnessing people unite, stand up for themselves, and refuse to accept injustice.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I am more aware than ever before that I can and should be doing more to make a difference in the world. I would start by doing my training to become an intimacy coordinator and be a part of the movement to eliminate any unsafe behaviour in our industry.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Honestly, I am yet to find it. But it is somewhere beach front, with no bugs or spiders. It’s affordable but also has a cleaner, a chef and a 24hr massage therapist. Any recommendations can be emailed through to my personal email.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I would have to take them to any escape room in Sydney. Or maybe Jamberoo because I haven’t been there since I was a kid. OR Color Beat which is this interactive grid game that looks really fun.
What are you currently reading?
I am very glad I can actually answer this question because until very recently I haven’t picked up a book in quite some time. I am reading Split Tooth by Tanya Tagaq who is a Canadian Inuk throat singer. The book is blend of fiction, memoir, poetry and Inuit folklore. It is daunting and sad, funny and incredibly moving.
What are you currently listening to?
Christine and the Queens. Like all the time. My favourite song at the moment though is Work by Charlotte Day Wilson.
Happiness is?
Coffee, painting, connection, dancing, working, a charcuterie board.
What does the future hold for you?
Who the hell knows. But I hope it consists of endless work opportunities and charcuterie boards, meeting more amazing people, lots of coffee and painting and dancing.
