For the third time in its history, the Jewish Museum of Australia has a new Director & CEO. The Museum has announced the appointment of Jessica Bram, welcoming her back after an absence of six years.
Currently Curator at the Australian Centre for Moving Image (ACMI), Jessica will commence her new role in November. She brings with her 15 years’ experience across curatorial and collection management in museums – most recently leading ACMI’s award-winning Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition, Wonderland.
“We are thrilled to welcome back one of our own,” said Museum President Barry Fradkin OAM. “Jessica is a creative visionary full of passion and energy for Jewish culture and connecting audiences to it. She has impressed us enormously and we look forward to a new year with her at the helm.”
“We were fortunate to come across many accomplished and talented candidates on our search for a new leader, revealing the high regard for and reputation of the Museum,” he added.
Widely regarded as a creative leader, Jessica is experienced in delivering blockbuster projects using state-of-the-art immersive technology as well as audience segmentation tools. She has moreover gained extensive local and international networks during her time with ACMI.
“I am thrilled to lead the Jewish Museum of Australia into its next phase; it’s a privilege to continue the inspired work of the Museum’s founders and previous directors, especially at such a pivotal time for cultural heritage sites around the world,” said Jessica.

As a museum of the 21st century, our purpose and mission to engage people with Jewish culture is more important than ever.”
