Creatives with disability looking to gain professional experience with leading NSW arts, screen and music organisations can now apply for accessible and inclusive internships for 2026.
NSW creative practitioners with disability or who are d/Deaf are invited to apply for a variety of internship roles with 20 host organisations across NSW, including new hosts coming on board for 2026, such as Western Sydney arts organisations Campbelltown Arts Centre, CuriousWorks and Powerhouse Youth Theatre (PYT) and new music and screen organisations in regional NSW, Yours and Owls Festival and Far South Films.
The hands-on roles range from production and technical to marketing, digital content creation and artist liaison for major programs. Each role is designed to accommodate flexibility, and workplace adjustments to enable people with disability or who are d/Deaf to share and develop valuable skills and make a meaningful contribution to each organisation.
“In 2026, the Createability Internship Program will provide rewarding opportunities for more interns and host organisations than ever before. This extraordinary program offers incredible professional development opportunities with organisations that are committed and genuine about access and inclusion,” said Kerri Glasscock, Executive Director Create NSW.
“To date, the impact is nothing short of profound. I strongly encourage all creatives with disability or who are d/Deaf, especially those in Western Sydney and regional NSW, to apply for this life-changing opportunity.”
This year, four extended internships of up to 8-weeks’ equivalent are available for the first time, in addition to 12 four-week equivalent roles.
With the greatest number of creative industries host organisations participating in 2026 since the program first launched, the Createability Internship Program is aiming to open doors to accessible employment for up to 16 interns this year, more than ever before.
“Increasing access and inclusion across the creative industries workforce is vital as it paves the way for authentic representation in the stories we tell, the way we craft them, and the lasting impact they have,” said Liz Martin, Accessible Arts CEO.
“Accessible Arts is delighted to partner with Create NSW, Screen NSW and Sound NSW to deliver the biggest Createability program yet. I encourage creative practitioners with disability or who are d/Deaf across NSW to apply for this exciting opportunity to share your talents and strengths.”
The internships are made possible through $150,000 investment from Create NSW, Screen NSW and Sound NSW, in partnership with disability advocacy organisation Accessible Arts NSW.
Applications for 2026 Createability Internships are now open and close 15 December 2025. For more information and to apply, visit: www.create.nsw.gov.au for details.
