On the Couch with Danielle O’Malley

Danielle O'Malley AAR On the CouchWho is Danielle O’Malley?
A girl from Perth who’s mother always told her that she could achieve anything she set her heart on. I owe so much to her.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I’ve always dreamt about one day buying land and opening an animal sanctuary… maybe one day!

Who inspires you and why?
I’ve recently finished reading Michelle Obama’s memoir and am so inspired by her determination, grace and dignity.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Educate the next generation on the importance of animal welfare and the simple choices we can each make to work towards a kinder world.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
I spent 5 weeks in New York a few years ago and it immediately became one of my favourite places in the world. The constant buzz and excitement was absolutely addictive. I’m desperate to return.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I love taking friends up to the Dandenongs to walk along some of the beautiful trails there. It’s especially beautiful in autumn.

What are you currently reading?
Dark Emu by Bruce Pascoe.

What are you currently listening to?
I love listening to podcasts and am currently halfway through an episode of Mia Friedman’s podcast No Filter – where she interviews Rachel Griffiths on her producing and directorial debut. It’s fascinating to hear about her journey from actor to content maker.

Happiness is?
Getting 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep.

What does the future hold for you?
Who can say? Hopefully more performing opportunities like the ones I have at the moment. I’m extremely grateful for all that I have right now.
