Australia’s very own diva extraordinaire – the feather ruffler, the rabble rouser, the cabaret provocateur Yana Alana returns to Melbourne before embarking on a national tour of her award-winning show Between The Cracks.
A bent night of blues, burlesque and blame, Between The Cracks is the latest work that has shaped Sarah Ward into one of Australia’s fastest rising cabaret stars.
In this ‘one woman show’ the tyrannical Yana Alana (Sarah Ward) accompanied by her long suffering accompanist Louise Goh, bares all (quite literally) through song, eccentric dance, poetry and tantrums.
A mistress at emotional manipulation and the art of entrapment, Yana Alana invites her audiences to view the world from the heart and mind of a solipsistic, fragile and courageous diva who is not afraid to let it all hang out!
Receiving the 2014 Helpmann Award for Best Cabaret Performer and two 2014 Green Room Awards for Best Production and Best Cabaret Artiste, Between The Cracks is cabaret at its very best – incisive, hilarious, confronting and, most of all, musically divine.
