In a show that is guaranteed to defy gravity, Australia’s favourite leading ladies – Lucy Durack, Amanda Harrison, Helen Dallimore and Jemma Rix will come together for the very first time to perform songs from magical favourites including Wicked, Frozen, The Witches of Eastwick, Dance of the Vampires, The Wizard of Oz, Into the Woods and Love Never Dies.
Helpmann and Sydney Theatre Award winner Lucy Durack, who has performed the role of Wicked’s Glinda to critical acclaim – says performing in the world premiere of Witches will be a career highlight. “It’s a triple dream come true… performing our brand new show with my dear friends who just happen to be fellow Witches, somebody pinch me! I’m so excited!”
Returning from London to join these leading ladies and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for this premiere event is Australian musical theatre performer Ben Lewis. Best known as playing The Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, Lewis received stellar reviews, and Helpmann and Sydney Theatre Award nominations.
Prepare to be bewitched as Durack, Harrison, Dallimore and Rix – each having performed the roles of Wicked’s Elphaba and Glinda to critical acclaim in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the West End, join Ben Lewis and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra for an evening of some of the best loved songs from film and stage at the Sydney Opera House.
