Winners of 30th annual Linden Postcard Show announced

LNA-Linden-Postcard-Show-2020-21-[installation-view]-photo-by-Theresa-HarrisonLinden New Art has announced the winners of the 30th annual small works exhibition, Linden Postcard Show 2020-21, featuring 1000 mini masterpieces from living artists across the country in a year like no other.

In its opening weekend, the gallery sold 164 artworks valued at $38,871 which continues the exhibition’s longstanding commitment to supporting living artists.

The challenging task of considering 1000 brilliant small artworks fell on the shoulders of two independent judges: Monash University of Art (MUMA) Director, Charlotte Day and Gippsland Art Gallery Director, Simon Gregg.

Artist Encouragement Award supported by Elwood Community Bank – $2,000 cash prize

The Henry Award – Best Abstract Award – $1,000 cash
Gabrielle Bates, Talisman 2, 2020, mixed media, 25.4 x 20.32cm.

Best Portrait by Rotary Club Melbourne South – $1,000 cash prize
Mark Hopper, The Ascent to the Fortress of Sigiriya, 2020, photographic print on laminate, 20.32 x 25.4cm.

Best Artwork by an Indigenous Artist supported by Port Phillip Citizens for Reconciliation – $500 cash prize
Kent Morris, Never Alone, 2020, digital print on aluminium, 20.32 x 25.4cm.

Best Still Life in Show by Scout – $500 gift voucher
Susan Morris, Little Banksia, 2020, oil on canvas, 20.32 x 25.4cm.

Best of St Kilda Artwork supported by TWISK – $400 cash prize
Ruth Hellema, Coexistence (St Kilda, Melbourne), 2020, photographic print, 25.4 x 20.32cm.

Abstract Art Encouragement Award – $200 cash
Bryce Aston, 20-87, 2020, mixed media, 20.32 x 25.4cm.

Best Landscape in Show supported by Eckersley’s Art & Craft – $200 Voucher
Ashleigh Pugh, Family, 2020, mixed media on wood, 25.4 x 20.32cm.

Best Work on Paper by Frames NOW – $200 voucher
Rebecca Scibilia, Anna from Disney’s Frozen I, 2020, paint pen on paper, 20.32 x 25.4cm.

Member for Albert Park Award – $1,000 cash prize
Michael Kluge, Pause, 2020, photographic print, 20.32 x 25.4cm.

All exhibited artworks are up for sale at the gallery or online so visitors are able to buy their own mini-masterpiece.
