What’s your Queensland Symphony Orchestra Favourite?

AAR-Queensland-Symphony-OrchestraIn 2022, Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO) will celebrate 75 years of making incredible music and to start the celebrations, it is calling on Queenslanders to nominate their favourite piece of music from QSO’s diverse, large and utterly brilliant history of repertoire. The successful submissions will be featured in the Orchestra’s opening concert of 2022 – QSO Favourites!

“We are calling on all Queenslanders to help us curate our special QSO Favourites concert in 2022,” said Queensland Symphony Orchestra Chief Executive Craig Whitehead.

“This year, the QSO Favourites concert was staged in February in the Concert Hall at QPAC and featured the majestic Allegretto from Beethoven’s Symphony No.7 through to Ravel’s unforgettable Bolero, and we can’t wait to see and hear Queensland’s favourite pieces of music next year.”

“There are many great works for orchestra, new and old, and QSO has played them all! We are asking music-lovers to think back to their most favourite QSO memory; whether that be their first QSO concert, the work that moved them to tears, or the piece that made them fall in love with orchestral music.”

“A submission could also be a performance that someone has never forgotten, or a piece that they hold close to their heart. The Orchestra is looking forward to reading submissions that encapsulate the brilliant power of music.”

Nominations for QSO Favourites are now open and close at 5.00pm – Friday 16 July 2021. For more information, visit: 2022QSOFavouritesVote for details.
