The digital gateway to cultural experiences, TodayTix has launched in Brisbane. Via its highly rated app and website, TodayTix works with thousands of venues in cities across the globe to seamlessly connect culturally curious audiences with the best shows and experiences.
Since launching in Melbourne and Sydney in 2019, TodayTix has provided hundreds of thousands of Australians with affordable access to tickets to some of the country’s most in-demand shows, including HAMILTON, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, MARY POPPINS, and Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
With its industry-leading technology, innovative product design, unparalleled inventory, and frictionless experiences, TodayTix continues to deliver on its promise to find a seat for everyone, breaking down the barriers to theatre.
The expansion of TodayTix into the Brisbane market couldn’t come at a better time, with a host of world-class productions to soon make their Brisbane debut, including the highly anticipated hit musical MARY POPPINS at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre.
“After only operating in Australia for over a year before the global shutdown, bringing democratised, user-friendly cultural e-commerce technology to local audiences is more important than ever,” said Brian Fenty, CEO & Co-Founder, TodayTix Group.
“Through our exciting partnerships with QPAC, Michael Cassel Group and many others, we could not be happier about increasing access to the arts by bringing TodayTix to Brisbane. We are so excited to be partnering with such high-calibre productions right away and look forward to further promoting Brisbane’s fantastic cultural offerings.”
As part of the Brisbane launch, TodayTix is running its signature digital Lottery for the upcoming season of MARY POPPINS. The digital Lottery gives theatregoers the chance to access $45 tickets, providing opportunity for a greater number of people to experience this acclaimed production.
The Lottery is now opened and will be drawn next Thursday at 1.00pm, with a limited number of tickets available per show. The Lottery will continue to run each week, opening every Friday with winners drawn the following Thursday, for the upcoming week’s performances.
Australian producer Michael Cassel is excited to bring the success of the MARY POPPINS Lottery to Brisbane. “Being able to introduce a brand-new generation to Mary’s magic in Sydney has been a joy, and the accessibility of the Lottery has helped us reach even more people – which is important as we continue to inspire and develop new audiences for theatre in Australia,” he said.
We are incredibly proud that Brisbane’s very first TodayTix Lottery winners will be able to join us at QPAC to experience our spectacular show,” said Mr Cassel.
Following its hit season in Sydney, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s “practically perfect” new production of MARY POPPINS commences at QPAC’s Lyric Theatre on October 22. Adapted from the beloved stories by Queensland-born author PL Travers and the original Disney film; the magical tale of the world’s favourite Nanny comes to life on stage in this spectacular and unforgettable production.
TodayTix is also thrilled to announce a new partnership with QPAC as its preferred Digital Access Program Partner for mobile Rush. Once Rush is launched with QPAC, patrons will be able to seamlessly purchase ‘rush’ tickets to select performances via TodayTix’s leading API technology which will directly integrate with QPAC’s primary ticketing system.
The new partnership addresses a need in the market for a ‘last minute’ and lottery ticketing option and extends QPAC’s commitment to making live performing arts experiences accessible to as many people as possible.
QPAC and TodayTix are looking forward to exploring and developing the partnership further to continue offering Queensland audiences access to world class performances on QPAC’s stages.
Brisbane joins TodayTix’s global network of theatre capitals including New York, London, Sydney, Melbourne, Chicago, Los Angeles + OC, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Washington DC.
