The critically acclaimed, The Kings Collective are back for their second offering of the year with Anthony Neilson’s The Wonderful World of Dissocia as part of the Sydney Fringe from 17 September 2015.
Lisa Jones is on a journey. A colourful and exciting off-kilter trip in search of one lost hour that has tipped the balance of her life. The inhabitants of the wonderful world she finds herself in, Dissocia – are a curious blend of the funny, the friendly and the brutal.
A carnival-esque amalgam of Lewis Carroll, Roald Dahl, NF Simpson and the Goons, filled with comic ‘insecurity’ guards, flying cars, singing polar bears and wild-goose chases. But behind all this lies the shadow of the Black Dog King.
The Kings Collective is thrilled to re-imagine The Wonderful World of Dissocia as an immersive, site-specific, piece of theatre presented in a Secret Warehouse Location in the heart of Metropolitan Sydney. Once audience members have purchased their tickets, they then must register for clues in order to find the venue at: whereisdissocia@thekingscollective.com.au
But that’s only the beginning of the journey. What awaits is an experience that the Sydney independent theatre scene has not seen before. Once inside, the audience will follow Lisa Jones on her journey through Dissocia as she searches for one lost hour that has tipped the balance of her life.
Led by Grace Victoria, the cast of Dissocia is filled with some of Australia’s most exciting and fresh new talent. The Kings Collective’s Artistic Director – David Harrison makes his directorial debut, under the mentorship of Matthew Lutton (Malthouse Theatre) and Emma Valente (The Rabble).
