The Teskey Brothers’ acclaimed new album The Winding Way has debuted at #1 on the ARIA Chart, marking the band’s second #1 ARIA Chart debut behind their revered live album, Live At The Forum (2021), and their first #1 ARIA charting for a studio album.
Led and guided by vocalist Josh Teskey and his brother, guitarist and engineer Sam Teskey, The Winding Way sees the brothers return with a newfound clarity as they shake the shackles of conventionality and emerge with a record that captures their free and fearless spirit.
The Winding Way is the band’s third studio album following Run Home Slow (2019) and their beloved debut Half Mile Harvest (2017). Run Home Slow was a colossal success by anyone’s standards, reaching #2 on the ARIA charts, winning 3 ARIA Awards and saw Sam Teskey earn a Grammy nomination for Best Engineered Album – all watering the grass for sold-out headline tours across the world.
More significantly, Run Home Slow fulfilled the promise of their highly acclaimed debut record, 2017’s Half Mile Harvest, cementing The Teskey Brothers as a classy modern band with an appetite for classic soul and R&B music.
In between the release of Run Home Slow and The Winding Way, The Teskey Brothers released two live albums – 2020’s Live At The Forum, and 2021’s Live At Hamer Hall with Orchestra Victoria.
Teaming up with Grammy/ARIA Award winning producer Eric J Dubowsky (Flume/St Vincent/Chet Faker) each track on The Winding Way bursts forth with an undeniable vitality, it is a record that plays like an instant classic.
The Winding Way is indeed a seminal moment in the band’s illustrious catalogue that is both a testament to their artistic evolution and their most adventurous record to date.
The Teskey Brothers are currently playing to tens of thousands of fans across UK/Europe – and will play Glastonbury this weekend followed by their three-month North-American headline tour.
The band will then return home for their 15-date national headline tour of Australia and New Zealand kicking off in November 2023 – with shows selling out.
