An original musical theatre work about one of Victoria’s most intriguing unsolved mysteries, the L’Nane Sisters present The Lady of the Swamp at The Butterfly Club for a limited season from 14 October 2019.
The Clement sisters were born into a life of wealth and opulence, bought a property in Gippsland in 1907. They were taken advantage of by unscrupulous farm managers, bankers and accountants, and were swindled out of their property.
One day Margaret Clement went missing, she became known as the “Lady of the Swamp”. Suspected of being murdered, the mystery has never been solved.
Performed by the L’Nane Sisters, The Lady of the Swamp includes storytelling and features 14 original songs highlighting key elements of the story. It is sung in 3 part harmonies with relevant imagery projected onto a backdrop.
Active in the 70s, 80s and 90s, The L’Nane Sisters were regular performers on a variety of shows including Countdown, Ernie Sigley, Mike Walsh Show and RAGE, just to name a few…
