The West End phenomenon The Curious Case of Benjamin Button will make its Australian premiere at the Sydney Opera House in July 2027, before touring to Arts Centre Melbourne and the Queensland Performing Arts Centre.
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s enduring classic short story is reimagined as a stirring musical – an emotional tale of a love that defies all odds – in a production that won three Olivier Awards at the 2025 ceremony, including Best New Musical. The new Australian/NZ production follows the production currently playing to sold-out houses at New York’s Public Theater.
Set in a small Cornish village where a man lives his life in reverse, this life-affirming adventure story is written by award-winning duo Jethro Compton and Darren Clark and performed by a company of 15 impressive actor-musicians playing 30 instruments. Bursting with heart and a sweeping score, this extraordinary musical is epic in scale and intimate in feeling, reminding audiences to make every second count.
