The Chronic Cabaret

AAR-The-Chronic-Cabaret-Diana-DivineChanging the narrative and showing off what disabled people CAN do, Rosie Roulette presents The Chronic Cabaret at the Kindred Bandroom on Friday 26 May and Saturday 27 May 2023.

Showcasing a full cast of disabled and chronically ill performers, all telling their stories through the art of burlesque, song, drag, circus and more. Each has a unique story to tell from defying expectations to learning to accept help from a mobility aid.

Every day we live in and must navigate a world that wasn’t built for us but at The Chronic Cabaret we are Accessible, we are Acceptable, and we are ASTONISHING! The show will be partially captioned. There will also be a relaxed and sensory friendly performance with Auslan interpreter on Saturday 27 May.

Produced by award-winning disabled and queer artist, singer, actor and burlesque performer, Rosie Roulette. Originally from Aotearoa, New Zealand, Rosie has many credits to their name including PACANZ Young Performer of the Year winner for Speech and Drama (2013) and is the reigning Australian Psychobilly Queen.

With Interstate Guest and Adelaide Fringe award-winning producer of Singin’ In The Pain, Diana Divine, performing both shows, The Chronic Cabaret also features a diverse local cast of different ages, cultures, races, disabilities and more. It is equal parts celebration and activism!

This accessible and astonishing show will be presented for 2 shows only at Kindred Bandroom on Friday 26 May (evening) and Saturday 27 May (matinee). Bookings essential!
