The Butterfly Club seek Expressions of Interest for 2018 / 2019 Summer Program

The Butterfly Club Poster Wall CompilationThe Butterfly Club is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from theatre makers, cabaret performers, comedians, musicians, producers and ensembles who wish to be a part of their 2018 / 2019 Summer program.

Successful applicants will produce a season of their work between December 2018 and February 2019. The Butterfly Club will consider independent works including theatre, cabaret, comedy, sketch, vaudeville, burlesque and live music. They will also consider any pitches for a recurring event to be held on Saturday nights.

The Butterfly Club are about to launch into their 20th year of presenting independent productions. With a stellar history that helped launch the careers of Tim Minchin, Sammy J and Geraldine Quinn, the venue is passionate about supporting early-career, emerging and established performers to stage new work.

“We are looking to celebrate our birthday with a year-long program of works that highlight our history of supporting truly independent voices in the Australian performing arts,” says Simone Pulga, director of The Butterfly Club. “Whether it is a new performer staging their very first show, a theatre company looking to bring work to the CBD, or a big name who are wanting to play an intimate room, we want to hear from them”.

Successful applicants will be offered a season of 1 – 6 performances, or the opportunity to present a regular night on Saturdays.
