The Architects of Sound: Arena Spectacular

The Architects of Sound - photo by Evey Skinner PhotographyBrisbane’s self-proclaimed ‘best band in the world’ The Architects of Sound return to Melbourne with an all new explosion of their trademark home brand, Euro-trash indie pop realness in Arena Spectacular at The Butterfly Club until Sunday 2 April 2017.

Donning their iconic black turtlenecks and plugging in their MacBook pro into Garageband-overdrive, The Architects of Sound are ready to seductively whisper (vocal nodes and all) tracks from their second debut visual album, The Holy Trinity. But with sexual tensions at an all-time high and the prospect of a solo project threatening to tear the band apart, will their three-dimensional arena concert be… spectacular?

Arena Spectacular combines the catchy indie-electro sounds of The XX with the calculated musical satire of Flight of the Concords. Part stadium concert experience, part stand-up comedy, part trashy undergrad performance art, Arena Spectacular provides a comedic snapshot into a contemporary music landscape populated by self-made celebrities who are more ‘famous for being famous’ than for genuine musicianship. Featuring classics like Titties in Paradise and Ich Bin Genius, you will laugh yourselves silly at the band’s deadpan take-down of modern music.

Wowing audiences across Australia with their absurd comic stylings, do not miss your chance to witness these sonic prodigies from the musical capital of the world, Brisbane, rocking out at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2017. Believe the trio when they say, “This will be the performance of a generation” (Valencia Low-fi, Amaro Mayfair and Sutro). The Architects of Sound: Arena Spectacular is a raucous, utterly silly and intelligent production.
