Tasmanian Theatre Company has announced Maeve Mhairi MacGregor as their new Artistic Director/CEO.
In making the announcement, Anne Cordiner, Acting Chair Tasmanian Theatre Company said “The Board is excited by Maeve’s intelligence, dynamism and creativity and looks forward to her great energy, ideas and work ethic as she takes over the leadership of TTC.”
Maeve is an experienced performer, director, designer and maker of theatre. She is the former Artistic Director of Loud Mouth Theatre Co – who took an innovative and exciting approach to making theatre. Maeve is currently Tasmanian Theatre Company’s Marketing Manager.
Maeve is currently studying a Masters of Cultural Leadership at the National Institute of Dramatic Art, and holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts (Acting) also from NIDA. She was a Tasmanian independent delegate to the 2017 Australian Theatre Forum, and a Terrapin Puppet Theatre delegate to the 2017 National Youth Arts Forum.
“As we prepare for our last production of the year, Oleanna, Maeve will work with the current Artistic Director, Gus Powers, to ensure a smooth transition as the company moves into 2020,” said Ms Cordiner. “The Board values her input and believes this experience will add yet another dimension to her work as Artistic Director.”
