In early 2020, Very Mature played a riotous, critically acclaimed sold-out season in Hobart. Now, after a year of hibernation, Sweeney Preston & Ethan Cavanagh’s light-hearted split bill show is finally returning home to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival from 25 March 2021.
If you’re in your 20s, ever have been or you ever will be, this is the perfect how-to guide. Or rather, the ultimate how-not-to guide.
Bogan-turned-big-smoke, Ethan Cavanagh is originally from the country in rural western Victoria, but they kicked him out because his pants were too tight. Ethan is a co-founder of Up Next Comedy at Arts Centre Melbourne and has featured on the ABC’s Stand and Deliver. State Finalist – Raw Comedy Vic | National Runner-Up – Class Clowns
“Ethan is an absolute class act, a threat to comics with twice his experience” – Claire Hooper
Sweeney Preston is a stand-up, singer, satirist and sketch comedian hailing from Melbourne’s West (just near the Western Bulldogs home ground). After performing in the infamous Melbourne Uni Law Revue in 2018, he founded now multi-award winning sketch comedy and publishing house Foolery Press. Winner – Comedy Out West | Winner – Melbourne Uni Comedy Competition | Winner – Most Promising Live Act MUDFEST
“An excellent vocalist, gifted at making some of the more abstract jokes hilarious” – The Dialog
