MCF Sing On Through TomorrowAn unmissable musical revue featuring some of the most acclaimed songs from Matthew Lee Robinson, Flourish Productions presents the Australian premiere of Sing On Through Tomorrow at Chapel Off Chapel for 4 performances from 21 June, as part of the 2016 Melbourne Cabaret Festival.

From his critically lauded first musical, Metro Street through to the new musical, Happy People, Sing On Through Tomorrow is an honest and intelligent coming of age story about love, disaster and everyday life, and includes the hit songs: Boyband, The Girl Next Door, Dignity, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Princess and more.

Robinson’s effortless talent in capturing the charismatic and the beautiful are on full display in this rare opportunity to hear works from one of Australia’s finest composer/lyricists, currently taking New York by storm.

Directed by Stephen Wheat (Georgie Girl, Winners and Losers, Blue Heelers) and Musically Directed by Lucy O’Brien (Company, In the Heights), Sing on Through Tomorrow features Joe Kosky (Jersey Boys,  NED – A New Australian Musical) Alana Tranter (Georgy Girl, Miss Saigon) Ed Grey (Wicked, Finalist: Rob Guest Endowment) and introducing Genevieve Kingsford (Sweeney Todd, Violet, Into The Woods).

A New York based Australian composer, lyricist and bookwriter Matthew Lee Robinson has won the UTAS Stephen Schwartz Songwriting Award, the Pratt Prize for Music Theatre, the Gilbert Spottiswood Churchill Fellowship, the $100,000 Australia Council Music Fellowship and been nominated for a Helpmann Award for Best New Australian Work.

A graduate of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Robinson’s latest musical, Atlantis was most recently developed in a 2016 New York City reading, directed by Tony award-winning Newsies creative, Christopher Gattelli. His music has also been chosen for inclusion in both the published and extended works for the Australian Music Examinations Board Musical Theatre Syllabus.

Sing On Through Tomorrow is presented by Flourish Productions, a new Independent theatre company with a solid track record for high quality national productions including: The Songs of Ahrens & Flaherty (The Toff in Town, Melbourne & Hayes Theatre Co. Sydney), The Songs of Alan Menken (The Toff in Town & Chapel Off Chapel), and Cy by Cy by Cy: The Songs of Cy Coleman (Bennetts Lane, Melbourne).
