Following two highly acclaimed Sydney seasons, Cats in the Cupboard Productions present Secret Girl Stuff at St. Martins Youth Arts Centre – Irene Mitchell Studio from 16 October 2024.
Written and directed by Mikaela Corrigan, Secret Girl Stuff bears witness to girlhood reluctantly transforming into womanhood and leaves you with the urge to hug your twelve-year-old self and tell her, “You’re going to regret wrapping toilet paper around your underwear, but I promise it’s a rite of passage.”
The show ranges from scenes that will make you cry laughing such as the devastating moment One Direction broke up to realising you might be gay when your second cousin wears a bikini to Christmas. But the show isn’t all laughs.
An electric cast of five women and one man will remind you why we must fight for women’s equality and for reproductive rights. This is a show by a woman, about women, for everyone.
“This show left me with the yearning to be a teenager again endowed with the knowledge and wisdom about womanhood without needing to go through years of rebellion and trauma.” – Sydney Theatre Reviews
