Season To Taste

Season To TasteSeason To Taste is a new Australian play that is structured around an unconventional nine-course meal, examining the relationship women have with themselves, with each other and with the food that they eat.

Written and directed by emerging artist Hayley Ricketson, Season To Taste was developed as part of Kingston Arts Centre’s New Blood Program and is presented as part of the 2014 Adelaide Fringe Festival program.

Through a collection of monologues, the audience catches women in moments of uncensored vulnerability and intense reflection. Drawing on the intimacy fostered in sharing a meal, a plate of food is served with each monologue, highlighting this potent connection.

Prevailing ideas of the female identity are tried and tested as these women speak about how they really see themselves, and how ambiguous the rules become when you address what you might really want from life.

Featuring an all-female cast including writer/director Hayley Ricketson, and National Theatre graduates Jessica Tanner and Jamaica Zuanetti, Season To Taste is an explosion of flavours, thoughts and emotional discoveries that is sure to result in a highly sensory and engaging experience.
