Raise the Bra! gives women in comedy the lift they deserve. Each night features a stacked line-up, with some big names bouncing across the stage. Enjoy the titillating comedy stylings of He Huang (Australia’s Got Talent), Sashi Perera (Best Newcomer Nominee MICF 2023), Jenny Tian (Best Comedy Nominee Sydney Fringe 2022), Janty Blair (Winner Deadly Funny 2022) and Sonia Di Iorio (writer for The Project) to name a few!

With different incredible comics each night, Raise the Bra! is a riot with themed nights like Tinder Tales (28 March), Mum’s the Word (29 March), Guilty Pleasures (30 March), Black Widow (4 April), Career Day, (5 April) and Dysfunctional Families (6April) – so audiences can be sure to find a night or more that tickles their funny boob bone!

A Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut, Raise the Bra! is the brainchild of comedian and Raise the Bar Comedy founder and producer, Amna Bee. Amna produces Raise the Bar Comedy as a monthly comedy showcase held at Storyville, and it keeps selling out.

With proven success as a comedy producer, now Amna is giving a platform to some of the best female and nonbinary acts at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival this year. This is the women-led, women-centric show you need to see.

Amna Bee was raised by a conservative family in the wild west of Pakistan – where women doing stand-up comedy was as unusual as women flying spacecrafts. Her unusual life journey has been featured on SBS, the Globe and Mail and South Asian Today.

Her debut solo stand-up comedy show Don’t Tell My Family has had sold out nights and high acclaim at festivals in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Edinburgh.

“This is where the good stuff is… a room dedicated to women and nonbinary comedians” – Jacci Pillar
