Gregory Nussen (they/them) is a cultural critic, performance artist, film programmer and filmmaker from Los Angeles. They were the Lead Film Critic for Screen Rant, and currently writes for Deadline Hollywood, Backstage, FilmFreeway, Slant Magazine, In Review Online, Salon, Bright Lights Film Journal, Vague Visages, Knock-LA, The Servant, Boing Boing, IfNotNow and on their Substack.
They were awarded the graduate student prize for criticism in 2022 by the New York Film Critics Circle. As a performance artist, they won the Best Solo Theatre award and the Sydney Fringe Exchange award for their show QFWFQ at the 2025 Hollywood Fringe Festival, and were nominated for an additional three after a sold out run.
Gregory has worked off-Broadway, regionally and abroad. They are a proud member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA and GALECA. They earned their MA from New York University, their MFA from Columbia University and their BA from Emerson College
