The producers of the Australian Premiere of the Off-Broadway smash PUFFS or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic & Magic have announced that Rob Mills will join the cast of this original comedy hit to play the coveted role of Cedric.
“I am super excited to be a part of this hilarious Off-Broadway hit,” said Mills. “It’s great to be performing back in Melbourne and I think it is going to whet the whistle for all the wizard fans out there. Comedy is something I have been wanting to get into for years and I’m excited to be making my comedic debut in PUFFS!”
Mills is joined by a stellar cast including Keith Brockett, Zenya Carmellotti, Olivia Charalambous, Daniel Cosgrove, Kiana Daniele, Ryan Hawke, Gareth Isaac, Rob Mills, Eva Seymour, David Todman, Annabelle Tudor, Tammy Weller and Matthew Whitty.
For seven years a certain boy wizard went to Wizard School. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of The Puffs who just happened to be there too. PUFFS is a Potter-inspired comedy for anyone who has ever felt like a secondary character in someone else’s story.
PUFFS gives you a new look at a familiar adventure from the perspective of three new heroes just trying to make it through magic school. It takes a second look at everyone’s favourite world of wizards through the eyes of The Puffs, a lovable group of magical misfits.
PUFFS is the sell-out sensation that has been playing in New York since December 2015. This hit Off-Broadway play has been called “a fast paced romp” by The New York Times and a “Potter comedy of epic proportions” by Time Out New York.
PUFFS will have its Australian premiere at the Alex Theatre, St Kilda on Thursday 31 May with previews commencing Saturday 26 May 2018. Tickets are now on sale through Ticketek. For more information, visit: www.puffstheplay.com for details.
