PLAYList – Live theatre meets music festival in outdoor performance adventure

AAR-RSAT-PLAYList-2021A celebration. A gathering. A live performance event. Red Stitch | The Actors’ Theatre presents PLAYList 2021, where live theatre meets intimate outdoor music festival at St Kilda’s Alma Park from Friday 26th – Sunday 28th March.

“I don’t need to tell anyone what the last twelve months has been like for this sector but we are nothing if not resilient and creative,” says Red Stitch Artistic Director Ella Caldwell. “This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate and support Melbourne theatre.

For the first time we’re taking PLAYlist outside, and we’re extending the festival over three very special nights. Cocktails, food trucks and live entertainment… it’s a triple billed recipe for a great night out!”

Transforming sites within Alma Park into spaces of intrigue, storytelling and entertainment, the three day program will delight the culturally curious and provide a wonderful new opportunity for audiences to connect with the Red Stitch company and collaborating Melbourne artists and musicians.

PLAYlist has built a strong following since its launch in 2013, becoming one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the theatrical calendar.

In this edition, ten exceptional writers including Morgan Rose, Joanna Murray Smith and Hannie Rayson will create brand new short works, each inspired by a song, and incorporating that song into the performance.
