Perth Comedy Festival reveals 2023 program

PCF23-Daniel-SlossThe wait is finally over and all is revealed with the Perth Comedy Festival’s 2023 Season featuring more than 65 hilarious new shows across town from 24 April – 21 May in one of the biggest line-ups of live stand-up the city has seen in recent years.

The month-long event takes place at Riverside Theatre (Perth), the Perth Concert Hall (Perth) the Regal Theatre and Chorus Room (Subiaco), the Astor Theatre and Lounge (Mt Lawley), The Rechabite Hall/Goodwill Club (Northbridge), Planet Royale (Northbridge) and Freo Social (Fremantle).

International heavyweights and comedy festival circuit favourites including David O’Doherty (IRE), Dylan Moran (UK), Danny Bhoy (SCO), Daniel Sloss (SCO), Ismo (FI), Jason Leong (MY), Kumarsutra (SG), Stephen K Amos (UK) and Sarah Pascoe (UK) are set to make eagerly awaited returns.

Whilst we have TikTok and Instagram sensation Troy Hawke (UK), Lebanese/American stand-up comedian NEMR (LBN/US) who is credited with pioneering the stand-up comedy scene throughout the Middle East and the hilarious, award-winning, interactive show that has grown a cult following from sell-out seasons in Edinburgh to the US and London’s West End – Sh!tfaced Shakespeare – popping their Perth Comedy Festival cherries and gifting us with debut performances.

Homegrown talent includes award-winning Australian stand-up comedian, television host, writer and podcaster Wil Anderson, The Chaser’s Charles Firth teaming up with The Shovel’s James Schloeffel to present Wankernomics, viral comedy sensation, rock musician, mental health advocate and award-winning, best-selling author, podcaster and youtuber Nat’s What I Reckon, the brutally funny, multi-award winning Reuben Kaye, and one of Australia’s most enduring comedy characters Bob Downe.

Local Perth names include comedian and marriage celebrant Daniel Delby, rising comic star sharing his personal journey as a refugee EMO Majok and deadly funny indigenous comic Fabian Woods.

The Biggest Show on Earth mixed bags run from Thursday – Saturday, debuting at Planet Royale: 4 -6 May and returning to The Rechabite: from 11 – 13 May and 18 – 20 May.

The Perth Comedy Festival Showcase returns to our friends south of the river at Freo Social on Thursday 4, 11 and 18 May. And this year the popular Perth Comedy Festival Gala’s will be held across three Wednesday’s in May – 3, 10  17 and May at The Regal Theatre.
