In a one-pot wonder of music, mischief and mayhem, Daisy Productions presents Penny’s Pot Luck Party – a cabaret-style musical extravaganza at The Terrace Greenhouse, South Fremantle, from 29 January – 1 February 2026.
Penny’s Pot Luck Party promises a dazzling mix of opera, musical theatre, and joyful improvisation and every night brings a different “menu” of songs, stories, and surprises drawn from Penny’s mysterious cooking pot. Accompanied by West Australian Opera’s veteran pianist Tommaso Pollio, Penny (and the surprise guests performing with her) will be in safe hands.
For Penny Shaw, performing at The Terrace Greenhouse is particularly meaningful: the venue is owned by her dear friend Sarah-May Baxter, whom she first met back in 2000 at mother’s group in South Fremantle when their eldest sons were babies. The pair have remained close ever since – making this collaboration not only a creative highlight, but also a heartfelt reunion.
Penny brings a wealth of experience to the stage. Known for her work with DivaLicious, her long association with West Australian Opera (including over 20 years of performances), and her acclaimed cabaret and directing credits across Perth and beyond, Penny combines vocal brilliance with irreverent humour and a gift for connecting with audiences. She is highly in demand as a MC of seasonal events, including Freeze Frame Opera’s ever popular Christmas at the Quarry.
Penny’s Pot Luck Party invites audiences into a loose, loud, and wildly unpredictable world; channelling late-night cabaret energy, but with a delightfully early finish.
Audience members will be invited to draw ‘ingredients’ from Penny’s pot, each unlocking a song, anecdote, or unexpected twist. Anything can happen: opera may give way to jazz, comedy may spill into drama, the whole course of the evening can suddenly shift.
“We built this show around spontaneity and joy,” says Penny Shaw. “There’s no fixed set list, the pot decides the menu. The icing on the cake will be to be joined each night by different guest stars, it is a show that will never be the same twice. In fact I recommend buying tickets for all three nights!”
The Terrace Greenhouse performance space is intimate: the gallery holding up to 75 guests, lending a warm and immersive atmosphere. Attendees can enjoy a relaxed pre-show drink in vibrant South Fremantle before they soak in the greenery of the courtyard, adding a sense of celebration and community to every night.
