Opening 1 December at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre – first look at Disney’s Frozen

AAR-Disney-Frozen-Cast-AustraliaDisney’s Frozen, the hit Broadway musical, will open its doors on Tuesday 1 December at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney.

An inspiring tale of sisterhood and true love, it features the songs you know and love from the original film plus an expanded score with a dozen new numbers.

With gorgeous sets and costumes as well as sensational special effects, Frozen is everything a Broadway musical should be – moving, spectacular and pure joy. Be one of the first to witness this global phenomenon on stage!

Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions (The Lion King, Aladdin, Mary Poppins), Frozen features music and lyrics by the creators of the film score, Academy Award-winning songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez (Up Here, Winnie the Pooh, In Transit) and Robert Lopez (Avenue Q, The Book of Mormon, Up Here), with book by Academy Award-winning writer Jennifer Lee (Zootopia, Wreck-It Ralph).

Frozen’s director is Michael Grandage, a Tony Award winner (Red) and director of three Olivier Award-winning Outstanding Musicals (Merrily We Roll Along, Grand Hotel and Guys and Dolls), and Rob Ashford, Tony Award winner (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and multiple Tony and Olivier Award nominee, is choreographer.

Frozen features an all Australian cast led by Jemma Rix in the role of Elsa, Courtney Monsma as Anna, Matt Lee as Olaf, Thomas McGuane as Hans, Sean Sinclair as Kristoff, Aljin Abella as Weselton and sharing the role of Sven, Jonathan MacMillan and Lachlan McIntrye.

Sharing the role of Young Elsa will be Deeana Cheong Foo, Lucy Famborough, Amelia Heaven, Sara Petrovski. Sharing the role of Young Anna will be Chloe Delle-Vedove, Sabrina Franco, Faith Hedley and Sienna Kann.

Rounding out the cast is Jakob Ambrose, Justin Anderson, Tanika Anderson, Blake Appelqvist, Sage Douglas, Nicholas Eaton, Mitchell Fistrovic, Joti Gore, Samm Hagen, Jayme-Lee Hanekom, Kimberley Hodgson, Todd Jacobsson, Jessica Kane, Andrew Kroenert, Jordan Malone, Hayley Martin, Adele Parkinson, Liam Peel, Anthony Sheppard, Thalia Smith, Sophie Weiss and Brendan Xavier.
