On the Couch with Tony Briggs

Tony-Briggs-AAR-On-the-CouchWho is Tony Briggs?
A husband, a father of three and a hard worker.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
I would lay on a beach in Barbados.

Who inspires you and why?
I’m inspired by people who get things done and don’t step on others to get what they want. By people who don’t feel the need to undermine others to achieve. We need more people in the world who uplift others.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Rid the world of racism so we can just be.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Holiday? You’re assuming I go on holidays.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Anything that showcases first nations talent and culture such as the Birrarangga Film Festival, Yirramboi and Black & Bright First Nations Literary Festival. These types of events showcase the rich diversity of our culture the way we want to be seen, that’s why.

What are you currently reading?
When I’m not programming a festival and pretending that I can’t hear my kids constantly asking for something, I’m reading three books at the same time: The White Girl by Tony Birch, The Yield by Tara June Winch and Hip Hop & Hymns by Mawunyo Gbogbo.

What are you currently listening to?
Anything that keeps me chilled.

Happiness is?
Laying on a beach in Barbados.

What does the future hold for you?
Who knows? I’m living in the moment preparing for the future
