On the Couch with The Church of the Clitori

AAR-The-Church-of-The-Clitori-On-the-CouchWho is The Church of the Clitori?
We are Comedy Cabaret with veritas. An interactive, edutainment, all inclusive theatre show that presents as a ‘church’ service. The experience is based on the positivity, beauty and joy of ecstatic worship. The Church service is led by the High Priestess as she delivers sermons from her ‘Mound’.

We are an independent show created by strong women for everyone. Lillian Rodrigues-Pang (Pipil, Palestinian) is the key creative, writer, High Priestess and Malika Reese (Creek, Chocktaw, African American) is the musical/parody-writer and the Labias.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
Not produce the show at the same time as Covid produced mass lockdowns. Have a church charity status in place.

Who inspires you and why?
Dr Helen O’Connell. Jessica Ann Pin. Creators of OMGYes. The Glitterous. Betty Grumble. These women are all making us aware of our fabulous clitoris and celebrating love for, and knowledge of, our bodies.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
This. Creating art that speaks to truth can change the world by encouraging every body to love themselves and experience joy everyday.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Australia. From going down the ravines within the map of Tassie to getting hot and wet in tropical far north Queensland. C U in the N T. A good blow in Freeo. Letting the moisture of Melbourne consume us. Traversing end to end on the Harbour Bridge. A quick touch upon the ACT. And finishing with a great Bight in South Australia.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
To the Aboriginal Cultural Centre, to get connected to the local Aunties and Uncles, then to the Kiama Blowhole, Nan Tien Temple, Mt Keira Lookout, The Sri Venkateswara Temple, the Seacliff Bridge and Hill 60. All beautiful, containing spectacular nature and culture and wonderful to share.

Happiness is?
Repeated acts of self love. A warm tube of lube on a cold night. Sharing the good news of the Clitoris.

What does the future hold for you?
Clitoral Salvation and closing the orgasm gap.
