On the Couch with Shoshana Bean

Shoshana Bean Arts Review On the CouchWho is Shoshana Bean?
Singer, songwriter and International Broadway star known for her roles in Wicked, Hairspray and more recently, Funny Girl.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
Not a damn thing!

Who inspires you and why?
My friends and family… Specifically my friend Leslie who just won a Tony and his tenacity and endurance in this business… My cousin Aaron who is a cancer survivor and during a 4 year battle, I never heard him complain once. Grace Potter inspires me as a musician. Frank Sinatra and Jennifer Lopez inspire me with their boundary breaking careers…

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I do what I can everyday. I try to be kind and loving and generous and come from my heart… Knowing that it will spread to whom I touch and whom they touch, and on and on. That is the best way I know to have an immediate and consistent effect on the planet. By giving and receiving love.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Hawaii!! It’s the one place on the planet where my soul completely exhales.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
In Los Angeles? I would take them to the beach and to the Grand Central Market downtown because they have to try eggslut and G&B Iced Coffee! I would also take them to SuperSoul Monday to hear the best music in town.

What are you currently reading?
I recently finished Fanny Brice’s biography.

What are you currently listening to?
The 1975.

Happiness is?
Yoga. The beach. Singing. A great cup of coffee. Ice cream.

What does the future hold for you?
Music, music and more music… Traveling, and making another record!
