Who is Sarah Murr?
I’m a theatre kid that grew up to live her dream. Originally from Townsville, younger me would never have guessed the locations I’ve travelled, the people I’ve met and the stories I’ve told through my greatest love – singing. I’m an eldest daughter, sister, friend, cancer and a lover girl through and through.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
I truly wouldn’t change a thing. Singing everyday is my dream come true and sharing the ups and downs of this career with my nearest and dearest is magic.
Who inspires you and why?
I love inspiring myself to always reach for more but my chosen family is the heartbeat.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I feel lucky that hopefully whatever show I’m performing in gives just one person watching a reason to smile or feel something that day.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
I love London – the theatre scene and history.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
As long as we’re together – a cardboard box at Flinders Street Station would be iconic.
What are you currently reading?
The Teacher by Freida McFadden.
What are you currently listening to?
I’m going through my Megan Washington phase again. An iconic Australian artist.
Happiness is?
Everyone I love being happy, healthy and thriving. And anytime I’m on stage.
What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully more powerful female roles, peace and I’m a romantic at heart – so love. Always love.
