Who is Samantha Leigh Dodemaide?
I am a musical theatre performer. So yes, as a job I get to dress up in costumes and sing, Dance and act! At the moment I can be found performing in the award winning show, Violet at Chapel off Chapel – playing the title role, Violet.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
I’ve thought about this a lot, because as performers we spend a lot of time between jobs, so the thought ‘what else could I do’ comes up a lot, the answer is simple – work on improving and expanding my skills so I don’t have to do something different. I really love being a performer and think I’m very lucky to be able to do it as a profession!
Who inspires you and why?
People with a great work ethic and passion for what they do. I love the quote, ‘hard work beats talent, when talent doesn’t work hard’.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I’m a vegetarian. I hope that can make a small difference in the world.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
New York City! Being a musical theatre performer I think it’s pretty obvious why… starts with B ends in Y.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
At the moment I live in Sydney… I love taking people to see the Opera House, the bridge and Sydney’s gorgeous beaches. There also also a couple of other places I love taking taking people to including Crown Street in Surry Hills. There are some great cafes! Another cute place that always impresses visitors is the grounds of Alexandria. It’s a beautiful cafe with a gorgeous garden, animal farm, and little food and flower stalls.
What are you currently reading?
The Cuckoo’s Calling – it’s a crime fiction novel by J. K. Rowling, published under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.
What are you currently listening to?
Hamilton – the new Broadway musical!
Happiness is?
Any time spent with my boyfriend! He makes me very very happy!
What does the future hold for you?
Lots of fun, happiness and good health I hope!!! I’m a big believer of manifestation!
