Who is Sally Bourne?
Sally is playing Sister Mary Martin of Tours in the Australian production of Sister Act. Sally has appeared in over 25 musicals both in Australia and in London and was the original Australian Annie 45 years ago!
What would you do differently from what you do now?
Gosh, I’ve been a performer since I was 11-years-old, so that’s a hard one. Probably something to do with water, sailing or swimming.
Who inspires you and why?
It might be a bit cheesy, but my kids cos of the adults they’re growing into. AND the divas; Julie Andrews, Patti Lupone, Bernadette Peters – they’re insanely talented and true masters of their art form.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
That’s a huge question! I’m opting out of this one cos there’s just too many!
Favourite holiday destination and why?
I do love London, but I lived there for 13 years so it’s probably more like going home than a holiday. There’s lots of places I’ve not been, so I’ll get back to you!
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Well it’s hard to go past the Opera House and the Harbour, I think we all know why? Cos it’s stunning!
What are you currently reading?
The script for the musical Sister Act! It’s a great read!
What are you currently listening to?
The incredible cast of the show smash all these wonderful harmonies and Casey Donovan, what a voice.
Happiness is?
Being with my family and great friends, being on stage, singing great songs and a beautiful sunset.
What does the future hold for you?
For now, touring Australia with this divine musical and then who knows, but i look forward to finding out!
