On the Couch with Reuben Kaye

Adelaide Fringe Reuben Kaye - Success StoryWho is Reuben Kaye?
An international cabaret star currently residing at the junction of vanity and desperation. (He also spends 3 weeks out of every year as a hood ornament)

Who inspires you and why?
I’m inspired by my consistent ability to inspire others… Also my humility.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Make it illegal for politicians to act without adult supervision.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
When I want to take a holiday I just take a deep breath, look inside myself and remember, I AM ENOUGH. Then I book a chartered flight to the Seychelles where the private beach has been stripped of all that pesky wildlife, order a daiquiri so big I could drown a hypoallergenic llama in it, and then I indulge in my favourite holiday pastime… Making the waiter cry. #blessed

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
My therapist says I’m not ready for friends until I can keep a guinea pig alive for two weeks without turning it into a small glove… But IF I had friends I would say come to Reuben Kaye: Success Story at Adelaide Fringe in The Garden Of Unearthly Delights You know… Something spontaneous and off the cuff like that!

What are you currently reading?
The 2nd draft of my Autobiography Reuben Kaye: Journey To The Centre Of Attention.

What are you currently listening to?
The world crumbling into an Orwellian dystopia… And Gloria Estefan.

Happiness is?
Receiving sexual favours without having to reciprocate.

What does the future hold for you?
Probably prison.
