Who is Olivia Charalambous?
Olivia Charalambous – A creative hustler. She’s an actor, director, voice-over artist, drag queen and future winner of Eurovision (representing Cyprus). Also playing the role of Louise/Eve in Ruthless The Musical!
What would you do differently from what you do now?
Nothing… I mean I could learn how to relax and stop. I also would love to be filthy rich but right now, the rest is going well.
Who inspires you and why?
I’ve been lucky enough to work and be friends with some truly remarkable people who take risks, push the boundaries and be unapologetically themselves and constantly inspire me! However, my number one icon is my sister. No one hustlers harder than her. She is a mum, business owner, teacher, performer and the true leader of our family. She is selfless, hardworking and a true bad ass.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I hope I’m starting to do so. I spent the last two years touring with The Listies (my stage dads who I am forever indebted to) with Hamlet: Prince Of Skidmark – making kids laugh all over the world. I also got to change the narrative by playing an Ophelia who wins, hopefully inspiring little girls and kids to realise that the woman can also be the hero of the story! I may not be able to physically save lives but I’ve always thought I could help people by bringing joy and laughter into this world.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Well, Florence is my favourite place in the world but if I had to go right now on a holiday, I would say anywhere tropical. Give me a 5-star resort, pool, cocktails and a buffet breakfast any day. Who’s coming?
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I’m the main attraction baby! … kidding. Well I’m a FOODIE so I’m always trying to find new places with great food to share with friends. Probably end up at Sircuit for a boog too ha!
What are you currently reading?
I’m more of an audio book girlie. Currently listening to Streisand’s book!
What are you currently listening to?
I go through stages when I’m obsessed with music then other times where I completely abandon it and spend my life listening to podcasts. Right now, I’m in my podcast era. Always on a hot rotation, My Favourite Murder, Sibling Rivalry and This Is Actually Happening.
Happiness is?
Making art. Eating. Sunshine. Friends and family.
What does the future hold for you?
Well, Ruthless The Musical opens in March at The Alex Theatre, so you should probably come and see it. Post Ruthless, I have another few shows in the works but apart from that, the year is an open book. (Call me)
