On the Couch with Nurse Georgie Carroll

Georgie-Carroll-AAR-On-the-CouchWho is Nurse Georgie Carroll?
I’m a UK Nurse turned Aussie comedian and author. I married a nice human, so we made two more of us. I’ve saved more people than I’ve killed, and I am on the box.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
Dream job – Lifestyle Coordinator in a cool age care community full of people who made it to over 100.

Who inspires you and why?
Michelle Brasier (Actor/ Writer/ Singer/ Idiot) – how anyone fits that much goodness and talent into an average size body I do not know.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
See question one.

Favorite holiday destination and why?
Never the same place twice if I can help it.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I am an Adelaide Girl, so probably Melbourne. Only joking! Come to Adelaide in February/ March when Adelaide Fringe is on.

What are you currently reading?
Everyone in My Family has Killed Someone – this book does not need a nudge from me, it is doing great things, an easy read of a brilliant “who done it” by Australian Author, Benjamin Stevenson.

What are you currently listening to?
Ashton Fraser (AUS) and Mia Morris (USA) – a pair of young global musical talents. I love that bit where creatives are bursting with innate talent, endeavor and ideas but are still forming their frontal cortex. Mia got a boost with America’s Got Talent, and Ashton has great backing too.

Happiness is?
Watching someone doing what they love to do, be it well or really badly. That or doing it myself.

What does the future hold for you?
Immediately – I am part of two major Australian tours which will see me touring extensively before the end of the year. I’m part of the brilliant Multicultural Comedy Gala – which is like the world cup of comedy. I will be your token white girl representing the UK alongside comics from Venezuela, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Ethiopia, and other countries. I will also be continuing my solo tour of my latest and favourite comedy hour, Sister Flo 2.0.  After these tours I will then be heading off to the UK to show them my wares.

Georgie can be seen in the Multicultural Comedy Gala – which kicks off in the Margaret River on 30 August and then takes in dates across Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland.
