On the Couch with Mitch Ralston

Mitch-Ralston-AAR-On-the-CouchWho is Mitch Ralston?
A wildly talented performer co-starring in the incredible show DUETS – playing one-night-only at Chapel Off Chapel as part of the Melbourne Cabaret Festival!

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I would definitely travel more if we weren’t in a Pandemi Moore.

Who inspires you and why?
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is my hero. She stands for everything that I value and calls everyone out and disrupts oppressors, despite all of the barriers she comes up against. Logical, passionate, radical, but all centered in empathy.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would throw myself behind people who should have more power, who need their voices amplified.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
I think places I’ve never been, so I can learn and explore.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Probably around the suburb where I grew up, maybe some local hikes, all the great vegan places we have here, perhaps some cycling around if they’re into that. Because I want to show them Naarm through my eyes.

What are you currently reading?
The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris – my therapist is making me. It’s good though, self-care.

What are you currently listening to?
Olivia Rodrigo aaree youuu kiddinggg meeee??

Happiness is?
The ability to survive and work through the bad stuff and move on and thrive.

What does the future hold for you?
Going on a massive solo bike trip along the east coast soon. Hoping I get back to international travelling and performing by the end of the year!
