Who is Matt Bell?
Comedian, frustrated homosexual and serial dater with elder millennial rising.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
Date women.
Who inspires you and why?
The guy who on a first date ate entire chicken wings in front of me… meat and bones. That’s just a level of confidence I wish I had.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Make Tinder more like Uber with star ratings, public reviews and the ability to know how late they’re going to be, so I know what I’m getting myself into.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Adelaide, city of dreams (I am not above shameless flattery, please come and see my show).
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
The Melbourne Star because it’s nice to be reminded of other people’s failure.
What are you currently reading?
Grindr… but for the bios.
What are you currently listening to?
Men talking about themselves on dates while I wait for literal hours to be asked a single question.
Happiness is?
A man giving you Tupperware to take home leftovers after a date because you know he has to see you again.
What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully being able to eat a chicken wing again without getting flashbacks. And, of course, my upcoming tour of Dead To Me: A Comedy Ghost Tour with upcoming seasons at Adelaide’s Feast Festival and Midsumma in Melbourne. And plenty of dating as I write the next show.
Matt presents Dead To Me: A Comedy Ghost Tour – which will take place on 22 & 23 November, as part of the 2024 Feast Festival. For more information, visit: www.feast.org.au for details.
