Who is Marc Lucchesi?
Performer, song writer, singer, sax player, venue owner… A creative guy who used to have a lot more time on his hands.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
Not much, I love my life. Maybe more sleep.
Who inspires you and why?
My kids. They inspire me to get off my arse.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Open a theatre venue in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. People need to be entertained.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
San Cassiano di Controni in the Apennine Mountains Tuscany. It’s where I was born, it’s insanely beautiful, and the internet is really bad so I’m forced to digitally detox when I’m there and my 99-year-old Nonna still makes a mean plate of pasta.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Without doubt Spiegel Haus Melbourne. It’s truly unique, screams Melbourne and I get free drinks there!
What are you currently reading?
I’ve literally just started book one of the Wheel Of Time series by Robert Jordan. For someone who loves fantasy as much as I do, it’s a travesty I’ve never read this before.
What are you currently listening to?
Bollywood Party Mix – I just organised a Diwali Festival and had no idea how good some of these songs are.
Happiness is?
Family.
What does the future hold for you?
I’m writing a new musical. I think it’s going to be a hit.
Marc can be seen in Vaudeville Smash’d – featuring the charismatic showmen of Vaudeville Smash – who will present a five week Saturday night residency from 8 November to 6 December 2025 at Spiegel Haus Melbourne. For more information, visit: www.spiegelhausmelb.com for details.
