Who is Maggie Church-Kopp?
I’m an actor and circus performer from Mparntwe Alice Springs – currently working on Glenn Shea’s Some Secrets Should be Kept Secret. In March at La Mama!!
What would you do differently from what you do now?
Be more on time!
Who inspires you and why?
Shout out to The Pertame School in the Mpartnwe. Pertame (Southern Arrernte) is a seriously endangered language, with fewer than 30 fluent speakers left, all in the grandparent or great-grandparent generation. They’ve set up one of the first total language immersion programs in Australia – including a language nest where babies and young children are surrounded by Pertame all day, every day, just like babies naturally learn English. At the nest, everything – songs, games, routines, play – happens all in Pertame, with English left at the door. They are doing amazing work to single-handedly prevent the loss of this millennia old language. Check em out!
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
More community.

Hawaii, I haven’t been but I wanna go!
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
The new underground train system.

Happiness is?
Being present.
What does the future hold for you?
Life Laughter Love.
