Who is Lucy Lalor?
I’m a 23 year old performer originally from Perth WA. I’m a Taurus xo and I studied Music Theatre at WAAPA for a total of four years, then packed up and moved to Sydney. I’ve now been here for just over a year living with my best friends in a cute share house! Currently I’m in rehearsals for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying at the Hayes! We open very soon!
What would you do differently from what you do now?
I grew up a very stubborn child who wanted to do music theatre and NOTHING else! But I did have a small period in my life where I really wanted to be a child psychologist. If I could do both at the same time I’d consider it!
Who inspires you and why?
I feel very lucky that pretty much all of my friends are involved in the arts and I get so much joy watching them do what they love. Watching them perform, listening and seeing things they’ve written inspires me the most!
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
One thing I’d do is make theatre and the arts accessible to everyone. I think everyone should have the opportunity to experience, create, and see themselves represented through art. Using theatre to amplify underrepresented voices and challenge the way people think is so important!
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Oooo at the top of my head right now, Rottnest Island in WA. I have lots of fond childhood memories there and every-time I go back my cup is full!
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I usually take them the beach or op-shopping because those are my two fave things to do when I get time off! Mahon Rock Pool at Maroubra Beach is a favourite.
What are you currently reading?
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle – I’m about one chapter in truthfully but I am really enjoying.
What are you currently listening to?
Ariana Grande’s new album or How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (the Daniel Radcliffe version).
Happiness is?
Hunting for shells in rock pools.
What does the future hold for you?
After completing this show at the Hayes, I’m going to take a tiny break, and then hopefully get back on the horse into another show! I have a fun project approaching in October which will be different for me – so that is exciting!
Lucy can be seen in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying – which plays at the Hayes Theatre from 28 August – 27 September 2026. For more information, visit: www.hayestheatre.com.au for details.
