Who is Lucia Carbines?
A contortionist and aerialist in EMPIRE Australia, otherwise known as “Miss A in a Bubble” and “the New York Pretzel”.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
Live on the beach so I could surf all day long!
Who inspires you and why?
A former aerial teacher and performance partner, Leigh-Anne Viser, because of her amazing talent to juggle her performance life, business and pleasures all into one. If I were to live like her I would need more hours in a day.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Put a stop to FRACKING world-wide!
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Well, I don’t know about my favorite, but I did just spend a week in Tasmania with the love of my life and we had a fantastic time! The mountains are stunning, there is excellent food and amazing museums.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I would take them out to the Tallebudgera Valley Rock Pools in the Gold Coast QLD. The waterfall is beautiful and a fantastic place to swim and relax.

A career that I love, and a life full of health, happiness and loveable people.
What does the future hold for you?
At this stage the future is looking like a wonder of possibilities! The next thing on the books for me is going on an overseas tour! I can’t wait to see the world.
Lucia Carbines is a graceful and elegant aerial artist. She combines contortion, aerial and dance into a performance that is breathtaking and captivating to watch. Lucia started her career at the age of 4 with classical ballet, progressing into Jazz, Tap and Musical Theatre.
At age 11, she discovered acrobatics and moved on to competing in Calisthenics and Horse Vaulting, winning the Vaulting national title for her age in 2007. At 14 Lucia started training with Aerial Angels where she found her true passion as an aerial artist. She has specialized in Contortion, Lyra, Trapeze and Silks, and has created mesmerizing performances at multiple corporate events around Australia and Asia.
Lucia also has some “dare-devil” tendencies, performing the death defying High Wire Motorbike Trapeze stunt at the Melbourne Grand Prix in 2013. She most recently starred in LumiAir, a Cirque Extraordinaire as the lead character “Diamond” at Jupiter’s Casino Gold Coast.
