On the Couch with Lisa Woodbrook

Lisa-Woodbrook-AAR-On-the-CouchWho is Lisa Woodbrook?
Lisa Woodbrook is a fun loving, beach enthusiast who loves connecting with audiences. I write and produce comedy cabaret shows, I’m a singer-songwriter, a student, and love spending time with my friends and family.

What would you do differently from what you do now?
I wouldn’t change a thing, I’m really happy with life right now and I enjoy creating and telling stories in different ways, whether it be through my comedy cabarets, original music or developing a tour to showcase work to regional communities.

Who inspires you and why?
I find inspiration from people who are really good at their craft. I really admire the masters who have put in 10,000 hours or found a really interesting and engaging concept. I find my mates in the industry really inspiring, it’s been a huge two years since the pandemic hit and I really admire everyone who has made the most of these challenging times and also used it to reflect, write, create or spend more time with themselves.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Woah! EPIC question! When I perform, I’m all about making the audience feel something, whether it be an emotion, recall a memory, explore an answer to a question, and hopefully make a positive, tiny, shift in their world. Finding a true connection with your audience is so important to me.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Oh there are too many to name! I’d love to head back to Positano, enjoy an Italian summer and go sailing again. I’m also a huge fan of Exmouth for more beach time and adventures with whalesharks during a Perth winter.

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Cottesloe Beach baby! There’s nothing better than a dip and sip in the sunshine.

What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty, she is an amazing author! I love the suspense, I can’t put it down.

What are you currently listening to?
Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei. I’m really loving both these artists at the moment, the chill vibe and brilliant musicality in their tunes are perfect for any time of day.

Happiness is?
Laughing with your mates, diving into clear water, a hug from my sister and gelato.

What does the future hold for you?
A yacht. And hopefully an album, more comedy cabarets and a whole lotta love! Life is an adventure, I’m very excited to see what I do with the time I’ve got!
