On the Couch with Lara Mulcahy

Lara MulcahyWho is Lara Mulcahy?
An Actor, singer, funny lady and occasional hoofer!

What would you do differently to what you do now?
Nothing! I love being in the entertainment industry.

Who inspires you and why?
I love Bette Midler – she has achieved so much in many different area’s of show business and still is working in the arts today. She also does a lot of incredible charity work.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I think the best I can do on a daily basis is just to be kind to others. Sometimes just smiling at a stranger will make their day. Also I really admire the work Deborah Lee Furness does for adoption in this country, we need to help as many children as possible to be given good homes filled with love and support.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
I haven’t had a holiday in a long time ! But I would love to rent a villa in Tuscany for a month with all my girlfriends and just relax and eat Italian food!!

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
I think one of the best value things to do in Sydney is jump on the Manly ferry. You see so much of our beautiful harbour and then arrive in Manly for a lovely relaxed lunch.

What are you currently reading?
Amy Poehler’s book Yes Please. I love a good biography, especially a funny one!

What are you currently listening to?
A bit of everything really. I listen to most of my music on the radio driving into the theatre.

Happiness is?
Being surrounded by family and friends.

What does the future hold for you?
Hopefully more rewarding acting work. I would love to play a fantastic comedy character in a feature film. I would also love to Direct musicals someday.
