Who is Lachlan Hamill?
As my partner says, I’m a solid 8 at everything I put my mind to; except for massages. But mainly I’m an Actor, Writer and Producer based in Melbourne.
What would you do differently from what you do now?
I’d be less scared of making big life decisions. But saying that, I’m happy with where I am now and if I had made different decisions, would I be happy?! Let’s not think about that too much! I wish I had been less afraid of what people thought of me, it’s hard to exist when you feel like you need to constantly be monitoring yourself to be ‘liked’.
Who inspires you and why?
I don’t really have a singular person. I’m inspired by everything, a piece of music, a stranger on the street, a painting… everything. I have ADHD so my brain is going at 1000 miles an hour all the time. And my partner Jordan, he inspires me everyday.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I would force everyone to go to drama school for a year. Truly, 12 months of facing yourself, your own fears, hopes and flaws everyday really makes you change and teaches you a lot about how to be kind and gentle to yourself and other people.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
I haven’t really travelled all that much, I loved my brief trip to Japan and I’m hoping to go back there this year. I do have this very romantic idea of living in a villa in the Italian countryside. I’ll do it one day.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
I’d take them to Cabinet Bar. It’s where I went with my partner on our first date 6 years ago, and it’s just our go-to. We love you Alan! I also love the NGV, I could honestly spend hours sitting in there.
What are you currently reading?
Berlin… Over and over and over again. I’ve just started Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. I’m such a slow reader it takes me forever to finish a book.
What are you currently listening to?
Currently on loop are Chapell Roan, Ben Abraham, the Wicked Movie soundtrack, The Hooters and The Ramones.
Happiness is?
A Saturday at home with your person. Being in a rehearsal room. Seeing a great play or film. Time with friends.
What does the future hold for you?
More acting, I wanna work on things. Call me, email me, DM me, I’m keen to be a part of as much as I can. Oh, and I’m writing a short film and a play. So that’s coming soonish.
