Who Is Kutcha Edwards?
I’m a 53 year old Mutti Mutti/Yorta Yorta descendant, who’s been singing my (clans) family’s Songlines since I was a child, for my songs will continue to do so, way after I leave this place and enter The Dreaming!
What would you do differently to what you do now?
I wouldn’t change a thing, reason being – I can’t change what has already been and gone, it is what it is. The only thing I can change is what I do into the future.
Who inspires you and why?
My family – we have been to hell and back. I feel we are a very resilient family, but life has taken its toll.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
I’d like to think I’m already trying to make a difference!
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Holidays are for people who have the time go on holidays. I haven’t had a holiday for over 20 years. I know I get bored if I sit for too long!
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
Anything that drops the pebble in an imaginary pond and creates a ripple, culturally.
What are you currently reading?
I don’t read much. The only thing I really read is the newspapers or online news.
What are you currently listening to?
To be honest, I don’t really listen to much music but when I do it’s usually Aboriginal music.
Happiness is?
Anything that makes my family happy and safe.
What does the future hold for you?
Interesting question but the future will be what it is. I can’t determine that but I’ll endeavour to make it as memorable as possible, and try to make sure it has a positive outcome.
