Who is Katherine Shearer?
Actor and Artistic Director of the newly formed Bull Ant Productions.
What would you do differently to what you do now?
Maintained my fitness.
Who inspires you and why?
My family. People at the top of their game who retain their integrity. People who work hard not just for the reward, but for the journey.
What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Have more female politicians.
Favourite holiday destination and why?
Most recently. Fingal Bay. Because not one thing on that trip was planned, and it was perfection. All a few hours drive from Sydney. Lucky enough to stumble on it off-peak season without a soul to disrupt. Full-moon beach jaunts, warm enough to swim, with amazing local restaurants! Paradise at our doorstep.
When friends come to town, what attraction would you take then to, and why?
My favourite Vietnamese place in Marrickville, Hanoi Quan. This place is truly an attraction. This is Sunday brunch. Best spring rolls in Sydney by a long shot. Pho is awesome too. Vietnam in Sydney. Oh, and then we can go to Mrs Macquarie Chair.
What are you currently reading?
My script. My script Bitch Boxer, and more of my script Bitch Boxer… Did I mention it’s a one woman show? Reading my script.
What are you currently listening to?
As I write this. Propeller Heads. Decks and drums and rock and roll.
Happiness is?
Feeling inner contentment and peace, no matter how things are going in my life.
What does the future hold for you?
If I get through this show unscathed, then I’ll be playing Marilyn Monroe in bull ant productions next project, Memories of Marilyn.
