On the Couch with Kate Davis

Kate Davis Arts Review On the CouchWho is Kate Davis?
A multidisciplinary artist and Co-Artistic Director and CEO of THE RABBLE.

What would you do differently to what you do now?
I wouldn’t do anything differently… Just attempt to do more experimentation in different forms. And perhaps become a florist or a psychotherapist.

Who inspires you and why?
Artists. Those who commit their life to creating, questioning and reflecting.

What would you do to make a difference in the world?
Really hard question. I don’t know. I’m finding the world and its happenings completely overwhelming at the moment. There’s so much pain and sadness. I would do anything I could to make a real global difference… But I don’t know how, other than through my art. However, I do hope I make a difference with my family and friends.

Favourite holiday destination and why?
Holiday. What’s that?? I would love to go wandering again soon…

When friends come to town, what attraction would you take them to, and why?
The NGV or ACCA or somewhere definitely with coffee and food- most probably close to home as I’m working all the time. My local, Milkwood in Brunswick East is a favourite.

What are you currently reading?
Lots and lots of Children’s books, three times daily.

What are you currently listening to?
Quite a lot! The Sydney International Piano competition, Nils Frahm, Chance the Rapper, Mark Pritchard, James Blake, and Colleen to name a few that are on rotation.

Happiness is?
Love, light and stillness.

What does the future hold for you?
Change.
